If you'd like to buy a drawing of a particular species from me, but you don't see it in my shop, please ask if I have it.
I have dozens of drawings in my filing cabinet, most of them are part of various large commissions
(I usually draw species separately and combine them on my computer when designing the final artwork, together with the text, if required),
so there's always a chance I might have exactly what you need :)

Do you know what the world's largest bee is? The females can grow up to 38mm, about as long as half of my middle finger or about four times the size of a typical honeybee (males are smaller – up to 23mm long – and do not have large jaws). You may call it scary – I call it easier to spot!

Wallace’s giant bee's scientific name is Megachile pluto. It doesn't have anything in common with the well-known Disney's cartoon character, though. Pluto refers to the Roman god…

Is it a Finch?

Or is it a Robin?

Turns out it's both! Who’s your favourite?

They hop, they chirp, they land on trees outside your balcony. This beautiful finch will chirp its way into your heart.

And here comes the bumblebee, this hairy, scary-looking creature buzzing its way into your house, but don’t worry, it won’t sting you as long as you do not disturb it.

Now we finally…

Did you know the Atlantic puffin is the only puffin native to the Atlantic Ocean?

Cute little eyes, soft fur coat and a red beak full of fish. Puffins are great divers, and they can dive as deep as 60m, catching dozens of small fish in one go! Pretty impressive, especially if you consider their relatively small size (28 to 30 cm long, 20 cm tall).

Puffins, in general, are threatened by human activities and disappear from many areas where…

I'm hearing it's Owl Awareness Day today, so here's my wildlife illustration of a short-eared owl for you :)

Short-eared owls belong to the “asio” group of owls, having tufts of feathers resembling the ears of mammals, which may otherwise be invisible, but when angered, this bird will display its stunning “flame-coloured” feathers, hence the name “flammeus…

Earlier this month, for the first time ever, I had a pleasure to see many of the beautiful Atlantic puffins flying over the North Atlantic Ocean, close to their famous Irish home – Skellig Michael. I haven't taken any photos of them as it was unbearably cold and wet on the boat, with the water pouring all over me, so I was focusing rather on having myself (and my camera) well wrapped! ;) Next time I'll be coming with a wet suit on me! ;)

Instead of a perfect nature…
