Aga Grandowicz is an award-winning wildlife illustrator, natural history artist and graphic designer based in Dublin, Ireland. She specialises in helping organisations communicate nature, biodiversity and conservation through engaging, scientifically informed illustration and thoughtful visual design.
Working with biodiversity departments, local authorities, conservation organisations, publishers and educational institutions, Aga creates visual communication that makes wildlife accessible, memorable and inspiring. Her projects include biodiversity action plans, wildlife interpretation boards, educational publications, brochures, wildlife murals, visitor information, nature books, and other printed and digital resources designed to strengthen people's connection with nature.
With more than two decades of professional experience in graphic design, art direction and visual communication, Aga combines artistic excellence with strategic thinking. Before focusing on wildlife illustration, she built a successful career in advertising and design, leading award-winning creative projects for national and international clients. This background allows her to approach every commission not only as an artist but also as a designer who can communicate complex information clearly, engage diverse audiences, and create lasting visual impact.
Nature lies at the heart of Aga's work. She believes that illustration can do more than document wildlife. It can foster curiosity, empathy and appreciation for the species with which we share our environment. By portraying animals with both scientific accuracy and artistic sensitivity, she creates illustrations that encourage people to notice, value and ultimately protect biodiversity.
Her illustrations span the full breadth of the natural world, including birds, mammals, fish, insects, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. Whether producing detailed natural history artwork for a publication, signage for parks and nature reserves, educational resources for schools, or large-scale wildlife murals for public spaces, Aga strives to create work that is both visually compelling and educational.
Alongside illustration, Aga provides complete graphic design services, enabling clients to work with a single creative partner from concept through to finished production. This integrated approach ensures that illustrations, typography, layout and information design work seamlessly together, resulting in publications and interpretation materials that are both beautiful and highly effective.

Within the Store, you'll find a curated selection of wildlife art prints, greeting cards, original wildlife art, and illustrated books. Many of the artworks available have featured in published works, including Dr Hibernica Finch's Compelling Compendium of Irish Animals, Remarkable Creatures: A Guide to Some of Ireland's Disappearing Animals, Blue Tit Chick, Encounters with Corvids, and Animals of Irish Name and Origin.
If you're looking for a particular species and can't find it in the shop, please get in touch. Aga has created hundreds of wildlife illustrations over the years, many of which were commissioned for books, publications and interpretation projects and are not yet available online.
Aga also welcome commissions for illustrated information boards, wildlife murals, books, magazines, calendars, posters, brochures and pet portraits. If you have a project in mind, Aga would be delighted to discuss how we can bring it to life.
Biography
Aga studied Graphic Design, Fine Arts and Traditional Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland, graduating with a Master's degree with the highest honours in 2003. She also has a Higher Diploma in Business Digital Marketing, completed with First Class Honours in 2023.
Aga has lived and worked in Ireland since 2006 and became an Irish citizen in 2025. Her work has been recognised through numerous awards and commissions, including multiple Arts Council Ireland awards, grants from local authorities, and prestigious honours for both illustration and graphic design. Her illustrated book Dr Hibernica Finch's Compelling Compendium of Irish Animals received a CBI Book of the Year Honour Award for Illustration and was shortlisted for both the Irish Book Awards and the Literacy Ireland Children's Book Awards. Her previous career in design and advertising earned numerous national creative awards, reflecting a long-standing commitment to excellence in visual communication.
Aga's ideal projects bring together illustration, design and environmental storytelling. She particularly enjoys collaborating on biodiversity initiatives, wildlife interpretation for parks and nature reserves, museum and zoo exhibitions, educational publications, visitor centres, heritage projects, premium hospitality interiors, and beautifully produced books that celebrate the natural world.
Whether illustrating a single species or developing the complete visual identity for a conservation project, Aga's goal remains the same: to create work that informs, inspires and helps people build a deeper relationship with nature.
