You might remember the Mayo biodiversity pull-up banner I posted here a few months ago. Shortly after I did so, I received commissions for another one and another – it’s great to see that my work resonates with like-minded people passionate about nature-related projects, which inspires me to keep pushing forward.
I had the pleasure of creating this banner for Sligo County Council, and I’m happy I’m finally allowed to share it with you here, as yesterday was the big day for the council – the internal launch of ‘County Sligo Biodiversity Action Plan 2025–2030’. The banner was revealed, and the illustration I did for it was also used in the Plan itself. Very happy to contribute to this important work, and very happy to have made my first ever trip to Sligo today to attend the launch.
The wildlife art used for the banner includes the famous Sligo's landmark – Benbulben mountain, a brown long-eared bat, a marsh fritillary butterfly, a swift, a humpback whale, an Arctic tern, a Greenland white-fronted goose, a lamprey, grasslands and oak leaves.
